Almugera Kabar signs professional contract

Borussia Dortmund have signed 18-year-old Almugera Kabar to a professional contract. The Germany U17 World and European Champion signed a deal until 30 June 2028, making Kabar the next talented youngster to commit to BVB on a long-term deal after the trio of 19-year-olds Kjell Wätjen, Cole Campbell and Filippo Mane.

Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl explains: "We are delighted that we can continue on our path together with Almugera. He is a youngster from the region who has great potential and has already left his mark at the academy in the past. He has a lot to offer physically, as a footballer and in terms of character, and we will work together to drive his development forward step by step."

Kabar moved from Hammer SpVg to BVB's U14s in 2019 and has since progressed through all of the Black & Yellows' youth teams. He made his debut for the BVB first team in October last year and has since made four Bundesliga appearances. This season, the Germany U19 international has also made five appearances for Dortmund's U23s in the 3. Liga and four appearances for the U19s in the UEFA Youth League.

Almugera Kabar said: "I'm delighted to be a part of Borussia Dortmund and to take my next steps here. I want to continue to develop, improve my skills and be successful as part of this great club."
