Partnerships of BORUSSEUM
BORUSSEUM collaborates with many institutions and networks. These include, among others, the following:
Network of German Football Museums and Club Archives
The BORUSSEUM is a founding member of the Network of German Football Museums and Club Archives, which was established in May 2013 by representatives of 22 first, second, and third division clubs at a working meeting in Osnabrück. Since then, two meetings of the participating clubs have been held annually. The aim of the network is to further promote historical awareness within the clubs and thereby preserve and enhance the cultural heritage of football. Additionally, it serves as a platform for the exchange of experiences and ideas, for example, in archival practices.
!Never Again – Day of Remembrance in German Football
“On January 27, 2004, the initiative was founded in the Protestant Church of Reconciliation at the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site. The idea originated from Italy. Since then, an alliance of individuals, fan groups and fan projects, clubs, associations, and institutions from football has commemorated the surrendered family members and committed themselves to a dignified culture of remembrance and to a stadium free from discrimination.
The alliance partners make an unmistakable statement against everyday and current racism, xenophobia, and anti-Semitism on match days around the 'Day of Remembrance for the Victims of National Socialism' with smart, creative actions and events. The scope of their activities and organization spans the entire republic and, in its European variant, occasionally includes Switzerland, Austria, and Italy.” (www.niewieder.info)
For many years, the BORUSSEUM has been part of the “!Never Again” initiative and annually commemorates the “Day Against Forgetting” on January 27 with an event at the Borussia Dortmund Museum.
AG Tradition
The Tradition Working Group is a volunteer working group of the BVB Fan and Support Department (FA) dedicated to the history of BVB and the preservation of its traditions. The AG's grand vision was the founding of a BVB club museum, which was realized in 2008 on the 99th birthday of the Ballspielverein. The FA was significantly involved in the founding of the BORUSSEUM. After a temporary hiatus, the AG was reestablished in the spring of 2015 and has since worked closely with the BORUSSEUM.
Reading Day
Since 2022, the BORUSSEUM has participated in the nationwide Reading Day, a joint initiative by DIE ZEIT, Stiftung Lesen, and Deutsche Bahn Stiftung Germany. It is the largest reading festival and a public event designed to inspire children and adults with the importance of reading aloud every year on the third Friday in November. Initially, only 1,900 people participated, but now around 800,000 people take part across Germany.
