Thomas Treß
Thomas Treß, born on 31 January 1966 in Riedlingen (Upper Swabia), has been the managing director of Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA since 1 January 2006, with responsibility for finance, organisation, law and investor relations.
Together with his fellow managing director Carsten Cramer, Treß manages the corporate responsibility department. Treß and Cramer are also joint managing directors of the BVB “leuchte auf” foundation.
After obtaining his intermediate secondary school qualification, Treß trained as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant, then obtained his advanced school leaving certificate and studied business administration in Mannheim. From 1993 to 1999, Treß worked for PWC Deutsche Revision AG in Cologne, and from 1999 to 2005 for RölfsPartner Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft, most recently as a “Partner”.
In his latter role, he played a key part in the restructuring of Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA, and he subsequently joined the football club.
In 2013, Thomas Treß was named “CFO of the Year” by Finance magazine.
