Fanwelt at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK

The Borussia Dortmund Fanwelt

A Dream, a Milestone

Three heads, one opinion. No contradiction. The new service center of Borussia Dortmund at the northwest corner of Signal Iduna Park has a magnetic effect on all black and yellows.

The construction is based on massive concrete pillars and a powerful steel structure on the upper floor. It is wrapped in an elegant exterior; with lightweight materials, glass prominently featured. Architecturally, the BVB Fan World thus offers the opportunity to "show the dimension of the brand in space from scratch without any restriction for the first time," says Carsten Cramer. But above all, the new service center also has a soul.

Inside, there is a black and yellow paradise spanning over 2,000 square meters. Here, for the first time in the almost 105-year history of BVB, all club offerings are united under one roof: merchandise, ticketing, travel agency, stadium tours, football school, membership, services such as Strom09 or Mobil09, and much more. "We are very flexible here," says Cramer.

On matchdays, up to 20 counters can be operated simultaneously, the entire range of BVB fan merchandise is presented on two 600-square-meter areas. Around 1000 different items are on offer. Of course, the focus is on the BVB jersey and the so-called flocking station.

For those who need to pass the time during a short wait, there is a game on the ten-meter-long mini football field, a ball pit with the mascot Emma in an XXL version awaits the little ones, a chic café for anyone who wants to pause briefly. Free Wi-Fi is, of course, available, and from the terrace, visitors have a direct view of Signal Iduna Park.

Advantage for the fans: They now have a central point of contact, or rather, a meeting place. A meeting point for all Borussen. "They no longer have to run from A to B in the city," says Cramer. They also no longer have to go over to the business office, no longer squeeze into the now too small August-Lenz-Haus. And they can easily reach the BVB Fan World. It has direct access to the stadium – and to the B1. Tedious parking searches are eliminated, as there is sufficient parking space available.

Side effect: The new construction has created entirely new perspectives just on the forecourt of the north stand. The fan shop has been separated from the away fans' block, and the clearing containers have disappeared. Instead, the number of turnstiles has been significantly increased, and essential special entrances have been created.
