The school partnerships of BVB

They have been partners since August 2014. At that time, Borussia Dortmund and the Geschwister-Scholl-Gesamtschule signed a cooperation agreement. In January 2017, the collaboration was further enhanced: since then, the Geschwister-Scholl-Gesamtschule officially bears the title "Elite School of Football". The same applies to the Goethe-Gymnasium in Dortmund-Hörde, with which the BVB partnership has existed since 2015.

"Partnership evolves into success story"

With the opening of the new youth house at the training ground in Brackel in February 2014, BVB began searching for a reliable, innovative-thinking, and working partner school. The "search for the right fit" was successful, and the partnership between the club and the school has developed into a great success story to this day.

The BVB/GSG alliance system has continually improved. One secret to success: The individuals on both sides are goal-oriented, always searching for positive solutions - and critically questioning themselves at all times.

Initiating the application process for the "DFB Elite School of Football" was logical and almost inevitable as the next step. During the visit of the DFB delegation on March 1, 2016, in Dortmund, both Borussia Dortmund and the Geschwister-Scholl-Gesamtschule were able to successfully present themselves. The pioneering collaboration moved up to the next level, as both schools can now more effectively shape the connection between "elite football and education" since January 2017 as "DFB Elite School of Football".

Now also a vocational college

In the 2016/2017 season, Borussia Dortmund also closed the final gap by establishing a cooperation with the Konrad-Klepping-Berufskolleg, enabling BVB's youth players to pursue further educational qualifications at the vocational college. To manage the time-intensive balancing act between professional training, school attendance, Bundesliga matches, and DFB training sessions, Anja Kobus coordinates the relevant measures as the responsible teacher. She and Matthias Röben, as the educational director of BVB, initiated the cooperation. With a ceremonial event on March 1, 2019, the vocational college was also incorporated into the network of elite schools.
