Mission of the Youth Performance Center

These are three of many building blocks of Borussia Dortmund's youth strategy. Its ultimate goal is to:

• Find talented young players, nurture them, 
• and train them over the years so that they can make the leap into the BVB's professional squad as young adults. 
• We pursue a holistic approach because it's not only about what happens on the field - it's also about developing the young players into strong personalities.

The competition for the most promising talents is now an international competition, where some clubs have greater financial resources. Therefore, Borussia Dortmund's approach can only be to convince talents with top conditions, a high level of professionalism, and creativity to seek their chance at BVB. Our philosophy therefore envisages a close interconnection between the youth sector, the transition area of the U23, and the professional sector. In recent years, we have consistently invested in the construction and expansion of a modern training center. Our scouting team is active worldwide, constantly searching for young, promising players. The permeability between our teams is high.

Success proves us right. Borussia Dortmund has been playing with a young Bundesliga squad for years. Time and again, talents make it directly from the youth academy or via the U23 team to the professional squad. Numerous youth players gain early international experience in the German Football Association's youth national teams through matches, European and World Championships. Talents like Mario Götze and Felix Passlack have been honored by the DFB multiple times as the best in their age group. This path, which we have been consistently following for years and continuously expanding, sets us apart positively from many competitors. The numerous successes Borussia Dortmund has celebrated in recent years, including in the youth sector, confirm our work.
