Sustainable development of BVB
Corporate Responsibility department
The Corporate Responsibility department is the central point of contact for all issues relating to Borussia Dortmund's social and corporate responsibility. This includes sustainability management, the BVB ‘leuchte auf’ foundation and anti-discrimination work.
Borussia Dortmund is aware of its impact, its enormous appeal and the responsibility and role model function this entails. The department was established on 1 August 2019 with the aim of actively shaping Borussia Dortmund's social, environmental and economic responsibility and bringing it to life.
As a staff unit with a cross-divisional function, we see ourselves as an awareness-raiser, initiator, implementer and supporter for fans, BVB employees, network partners and sponsors when it comes to Borussia Dortmund's social responsibility issues.
As part of BVB's sustainable development as a holistic process, we have identified the areas that need to be prioritised in light of the pressing topicality of climate change and social challenges. To this end, we have initiated five ‘match winners’ as long-term, overarching projects.
- Stadium and real estate: sustainable construction and operation
- Fair and grandchild-friendly fan merchandise
- Promoting access to education
- Mobility: travelling to and from the stadium for fans, team and employees
- Sustainable event management
