Emre Can: Focus on the challenge in Lisbon
How much excitement is there about the game?
"A lot. It's always nice to play in the Champions League. We know what it's all about. It won't be an easy game. I've been here before a couple of years ago. But we're going to concentrate on ourselves. If we show our quality on the pitch, we'll hopefully leave the pitch as the winners of the game."
What did you take from the Stuttgart game?
"Our approach was good, our willingness to make runs was good. But in the end we lost the game, we know that. We didn't use the chances that we had. And if you don't use your chances, you get brutally punished for it, especially at this level. We want to win games, and in the last few weeks we unfortunately haven't managed to do that. But we're working hard and trying to do better."
What should you be prepared for in Lisbon?
"A cauldron, definitely. It won't be easy. Sporting are a top team who aren't first in the league for nothing. They have some top strikers. But we also have quality, and next week they'll be coming to us as well. We'll give our all today to get a good result."
How important is it to be in a good position going into the second game?
"Very important. No matter what happens, whether you score a goal or concede a goal, you have to stay in the game and keep a cool head. That's very important, because in the end, one goal can make all the difference. That's why we'll absolutely stay focused for the 90 minutes and try to get a good result."
