Supervisory Board: Silke Seidel elected as Chairwoman
Following the Annual General Meeting on Monday, the Supervisory Board elected Silke Seidel as its Chairwoman and re-elected Ulrich Leitermann as its Deputy Chairman at its constituent meeting.
"Silke Seidel has a high degree of expertise in the real estate business. When I met her for the first time 20 years ago, we were working intensively on the construction of our Hohenbuschei training ground in Dortmund-Brackel. Since then, we have worked with Silke Seidel on all levels at Borussia Dortmund in a spirit of great trust and are delighted that she has been elected as Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board," explained Hans-Joachim Watzke, the Chairman of the Board at Borussia Dortmund.
Seidel has been closely associated with Borussia Dortmund for many years, boasts a wealth of board experience and has also served as a member of the Audit Committee installed at BVB in the 2021/2022 financial year and, since 2022, as the deputy to Club President Dr. Reinhold Lunow.
In the past, the Dortmund native was responsible for the planning and construction of the BVB Hohenbuschei training centre, the Youth Performance Centre and the sporting headquarters in the Brackel district, among other things, as well as being heavily involved in the renovation of the club museum, the BOROSSEUM.
She serves as Managing Director of Dortmund Logistik GmbH, Hohenbuschei GmbH & Co. KG and Westfalentor 1 GmbH, as well as being head of DSW21 Immobilien. For professional reasons, Seidel is constantly working on profitability analyses, and at BVB she brings a new dimension to the numerical side of things. "Our club," Seidel said, "is an important part of the city's social community and has an impact far beyond Dortmund. We must constantly strive to emphasise this sense of togetherness that we embody here; we must remain down-to-earth and scrutinise all decisions to see whether they suit us as BVB."
Christian Schmid and Michael Zorc were newly elected to the Supervisory Board. Judith Dommermuth, Silke Seidel, Matthias Bäumer, Bernd Geske, Dr. Reinhold Lunow, Ulrich Leitermann and Prof. Dr. Bernhard Pellens were re-elected.
