Ole Pohlmann

The 22-year-old attacking player has been under contract with Borussia Dortmund since July 2021. He played exclusively for the U23 team by June 2023 (cut-off date for all information).

Ole Pohlmann's footballing career via Hannover and Wolfsburg to BVB

He was born in Minden and trained as a footballer in Hannover and Wolfsburg, where he moved to at the age of 14. At VfL's youth training centre, he played at U17, U19 and U23 level. VfL deregistered its U23s in the summer of 2021 and Pohlmann found his new team in Borussia Dortmund's U23s. ‘Ole is a flexible attacking player with great development potential. He will help us immediately,’ said U23 team manager Ingo Preuß after the transfer.

The rise of Ole Pohlmann

Two years and 68 third division games (five goals, ten assists) later, he signed his first professional contract in June 2023. After taking part in parts of the Bundesliga team's pre-season preparations and the club's trip to Asia in the 2022/23 season, he was promoted for the 2023/24 season. ‘I'm over the moon to have been given the chance at BVB and to sign my professional contract. I will continue to give it my all every day, thank everyone who has supported me so far and hope to be able to celebrate my Bundesliga debut here one day.’
