Borussia Dortmund Table tennis Youth

The new youth concept of BVB has been in place since the summer of this year. Many promising talents have been identified, who are now learning table tennis from the ground up. Under the guidance of our 4 youth coaches (Wencheng Qi, Prof. Dr. Urusula Reitemeyer-Witt, Michael Gerding, and Frank Schäfer), the youngest Borussia players are learning all the necessary basic strokes and table tennis rules. Due to the abundance of young talent, for the 2018/2019 season, 2 teams each of Schüler B (up to max 12 years) and Schüler C (up to max 10 years) can actually be formed. The transitions between age groups are fluid.

The matches are played in championship mode with doubles teams in the Corbillon Cup system, where up to 4 singles and a doubles match are played. The team that wins 3 out of the maximum possible 5 games first wins the championship match.

Currently, training takes place twice a week, every Wednesday (5:00-6:30 pm) and Friday (5:00-7:00 pm). Interested young people and students are welcome to come and visit us.

Our junior team starts the 2018/2019 season with 2 teams in the preliminary round of the Kreisliga 1 Dortmund/Hamm.
