Borussians have a successful start to the international break
Borussian Pascal Groß was in the starting eleven for Germany on Wednesday evening in San Siro. The German team were unable to prevent going a goal down in the 9th minute after a goal by Sandro Tonali. At the start of the second half, Nico Schlotterbeck (for David Raum) became the second Dortmunder on the pitch: the BVB defender played in left-back and had several good moments, including impressively clearing a ball by Raoul Bellanova in his own half (66) after Germany had equalised (49, Kleindienst). It was Leon Goretzka who scored the winning goal for the DFB team with a header. Karim Adeyemi then became the third Borussian on the pitch (82, for Leroy Sané). On Sunday the German national team will be playing their second game against Italy in Dortmund. Tickets for the game at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK are already sold out.
Thursday evening was also a success for Julien Duranville, who was part of the Belgian Under-21s team that won their friendly against Sweden 2-1. The Dortmunder was in the starting eleven and was substituted off for Benjamin Pauwels after 61 minutes.
On Wednesday evening Almugera Kabar and Kjell Wätjen played for the German Under-19s national team. The DFB juniors won 2-0 against Slovenia in the Elite League. Kabar and Wätjen were on the pitch from the first whistle, and were then replaced by Mateo Kritzer and Maximilian Herwerth in the second half (68).
Gio Reyna did not play for the US national team in their game against Panama in the Concacaf Nations League, which the USA lost 0-1. Salih Özcan was not in the squad for Turkey's 3-1 win against Hungary in the UEFA Nations League.
