BVB women with the next three points against Minden

The Borussia Dortmund women's team beat SVKT Minden 9-0 (3-0) on Sunday afternoon. Marie Grothe (2), Dana Marquardt (2), Nora Willeke (2), Marina Jung, Annika Enderle and Finnja Schriek scored the goals for the Black & Yellows.

The Borussia ladies were raring to go from the outset, with the play taking place almost exclusively in the half of the visitors from Minden in the opening minutes. Marie Grothe headed home a Paula Reimann corner to make it 1-0 in the 13th minute. Dana Marquardt doubled the advantage to 2-0 following a Grothe assist in the 21st minute. Marquardt artistically converted Grothe's chest-height cross at the back post. Captain Grothe then scored her second goal of the game before the interval (32). She once again headed home from a corner-kick, but this time the delivery came from Ann-Sophie Vogel.

The BVB women did not drop off in the slightest after the interval: the No. 49, Dana Marquardt, increased the Black & Yellows' lead with her second goal in the 49th minute and put the home team 4-0 up. Mia Bedarf's chipped ball to Marquardt in a central position in front of goal was successfully converted by the striker. Only a minute later, Nora Willeke added her name to the scoresheet: Vogel delivered a cutback to Willeke, who fired spectacularly into the far top corner of the goal (50). Willeke then made it half a dozen in the 51st minute, holding her nerve in a one-on-one battle with the goalkeeper and calmly slotting the ball into the bottom corner. Central defender Marina Jung then made it 7-0 in the 60th minute. Jung simply pulled the trigger from a good 20 metres out and hit the back of the net. Annika Enderle joined in the action three minutes later and lobbed the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper at full sprint. The 9-0 victory was completed by Finnja Schriek in the 85th minute, after Grothe had won the ball back from the Minden defenders and threaded it through to Schriek in the six-yard box.

Next week will see the BVB women first make an away trip to DJK TuS Körne in the Kreispokal. Kick-off at the Sportanlage Am Zippen is at 19:00 CEST on Thursday. That will be followed by the next match of their Westfalenliga campaign against DJK GW Amelsbüren on Sunday. The Borussia ladies will be away in that one too.
