Pre-Match Report

DAZN broadcasting | Referee from Italy

Borussia Dortmund will be playing Sporting C.P. on Wednesday. Kick-off is at 18:45 CET. Here we have compiled all the information you need about our Champions League home game. Updates will follow as soon as there is more news.

Referee: Massa will be blowing the whistle

UEFA has entrusted Italian Davide Massa to be in charge of the game. The 43-year-old will be refereeing his 23rd game in the Champions League, and his second in which Borussia Dortmund is playing (he previously refereed BVB - Manchester City, 0-0, in October 2022). He was also in charge of the away game at Wolfsberger AC (Austria) in the qualifying round for the Europa League in July 2016, which BVB won 1-0.

Shirts: BVB in Cup shirts

Borussia Dortmund will be playing as usual in their Cup shirts (black and yellow striped shirts, black shorts, yellow socks). The team from Lisbon will be playing in almost all white (green decoration on shirt).

Tickets: Ticket exchange open

Tickets are currently still on offer from 18.50 euros. The ticket exchange will be open on the day of the match from 16:00 CET. There, ticket owners will legally be selling their season tickets or day tickets in the BVB ticket shop if they are unable to come to the game at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK themselves. The ticket owner will not need to hand over their day ticket or season ticket, since the tickets are locked electronically and can then be released again. The ticket exchange is on offer for all home games which are sold out.

BVB Netradio will be reporting as usual from the Black&Yellow perspective. The reporters will be Norbert Dickel and Boris Rupert. BVB Netradio coverage will be starting 15 minutes before kick-off, and is available to everyone via the homepage and in the BVB app for iPhone and Android devices. Weather: cold and dry

The weather forecast for Wednesday: After a sunny day, it should remain dry during the game, with temperatures around two degrees celsius. The predicted chance of rain is zero.

This also applies to those who have plastic season tickets. Those who have a "Print@Home-Ticket" or a mobile ticket (e.g. Apple wallet) must carry, in addition to their ticket, a travel ticket for the public transport network which can be ordered online free of charge via this page

Live updates: Check out the app

On the day of the match, BVB will be operating at full throttle on the club's digital platforms, not only during the game itself but throughout the whole day - from 09:09 CET, of course. In "match day" mode in the BVB app (available to download here) there will be news, photos, posts, videos, statistics and much more about the game.
