Guirassy: "You'll soon see the best of me"

His first time in the Dortmund starting XI, his first Champions League appearance in a Black & Yellow shirt and his first goal for BVB. The last nine days have been full of firsts for Serhou Guirassy, who is expecting his next one on Sunday (22/09): Following his transfer in the summer, the striker will play at Stuttgart's stadium and go up against his former club as a Borussia player for the first time.

How will it feel? "I really don't know," explained the former Stuttgart player, shaking his head. But one thing is for sure, says Guirassy, who scored 44 goals in 58 appearances for VfB over a two-year period: "It will, of course, be a special moment." There was also a special moment for Guirassy in the fifth minute of stoppage time in the Champions League match against Brugge on Wednesday evening.

After he had been fouled in the home team's penalty area, referee Irfan Peljto decided to point to the spot. BVB captain Emre Can, the designated penalty taker for the Black & Yellows, already had the ball in his hands – and then over came Guirassy: "I said to Emre, I'll take it." Can agreed and a short while later, Guirassy had his first BVB goal courtesy of a nonchalant strike into the middle of the goal and Dortmund had their first three points on the board in the Champions League following a 3-0 win.

Important for the Black & Yellows and important for Guirassy, who has not had a perfect start to life at BVB with his injury. "I feel really good," said the France-born Guinea international and made the BVB supporters a promise: "I'm not yet currently at 100%, I still need a few games. We will soon see the best of me."

BVB fans would ideally like to see more of Guirassy this Sunday when Borussia go up against the forward's former club Stuttgart away from home. Despite their 3-1 defeat away to Real Madrid on Tuesday evening, Stuttgart will return to Bundesliga duty full of confidence – a belief shared by Guirassy, who watched his former team-mates in action on TV.

"They really played a great game," said Guirassy, who immediately turned his focus back to the future despite the praise. "I of course like Stuttgart, they know what I think about them. But I now play for Dortmund and I'm going to Stuttgart to win."
