Moukoko to join Nice on loan
Nice can keep Moukoko beyond 30 June 2025 by exercising a purchase option under pre-agreed conditions.
“There is currently great competition in our attack. It would therefore have been difficult for Youssoufa to gain enough game time in the course of the coming months in order to continue his development at a high level,” said BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl, adding: “Youssoufa is a special player from our own academy who is very attached to this club and has also already been able to celebrate several successes here. We believe that a change and a new environment will now do him good. We wish Youssoufa maximum success for the upcoming season and will remain in close contact with him.”
Youssoufa Moukoko said: “Borussia Dortmund will always be a special club for me. Here I have celebrated big successes at youth level, turned professional, played in the Bundesliga and the Champions League and been called up for the national team. I would like to thank all the management, coaches, team-mates, staff and fans who have accompanied and supported me on my journey. A new chapter now begins for me with a loan until next summer at least, which I’m very much looking forward to and which offers me the opportunity to play regularly. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for BVB from afar in the coming months.”
Moukoko made a total of 76 Bundesliga appearances (17 goals) and played in 12 matches in the UEFA Champions League for BVB. In 2018, he won the German B-Junior Championship with the BVB U17s.
