General safety instructions

General safety instructions

In preparation for the Champions League away match in Zagreb, Borussia Dortmund are endeavouring to ensure a safe stadium experience. With this in mind, BVB are in close contact with Dinamo Zagreb officials as well as the Croatian and German security authorities. UEFA have categorised the match as high risk. Due to the potentially volatile nature of the matchday, hostile and aggressive behaviour towards recognisable BVB fans in the Zagreb city area cannot be ruled out.

Please note the following information:

  • We would like to ask you to always behave in a restrained and de-escalating manner in the city area of Zagreb and in the Maksimir stadium in order to avoid conflicts on matchday. Behaviour that could be seen as provocative is not permitted.
  • BVB fan paraphernalia should not be worn outside the stadium on match day or on the evening before the match.
  • BVB fans should only enter the stadium in the away section.
  • We advise against purchasing or using tickets outwith the away section.
  • Please also note the following information on travelling and parking.

Arrival

  • For security reasons, Dinamo Zagreb have informed us at short notice that travelling by bus is recommended. Borussia Dortmund are aware that BVB fans have already booked or planned their journey to Zagreb. Travelling by 9-seater, car or plane is of course still possible.
  • On matchday, a car park for coaches, 9-seaters and cars will be available directly opposite the visitors' entrance from 6:00 CET onwards. This car park will be secured by the police and security service. The car park is located here.
  • Wheelchair users use the same car park.
  • Important: Should any incidents occur on the day of the match in Zagreb, the Croatian police reserve the right not to allow BVB fans parked in the car park to leave the car park until kick-off in order to ensure the safety of these fans.
  • Toilet facilities will be available at the car park.
  • The Ozujsko pub Maksi restaurant is located opposite the car park next to the away entrance. The official opening hours are from 9:00 CET to 23:00 CET, so BVB fans can stay and eat there. This restaurant is located there.
  • Dinamo Zagreb recommend driving directly to the stadium or away car park on matchday. Visiting fans who still wish to travel from the city centre can reach the stadium via tram lines 1 and 17 and travel to the ‘Borongaj’ station. The station is only a few minutes‘ walk from the away entrance. Dinamo Zagreb strongly advise against using other tram lines or stations. There will be no separate tram lines for visiting fans.
  • The Croatian police advise BVB fans who nevertheless wish to travel from the city to stay in the streets of Tkalčićeva, Bogovićeva or on Cvjetni Square in the centre of Zagreb. There are many bars and restaurants there. Additional police officers will reportedly be on site in these areas. The Croatian police claim to be able to ensure the highest possible level of security in the city centre in these areas.
  • Tickets for the match do not entitle the holder to travel on public transport.
  • Fan marches are not permitted.

  • Wheelchair users use the same entrance.
  • After ticket control, stadium visitors must pass through several access and body checks, which are carried out by both the security service and the police. Accordingly, longer waiting times are to be expected at the away entrance. We therefore recommend that you arrive at the stadium as early as possible.
