Post-Match Report
Facts: Adeyemi is youngest German player with 10 Champions League goals
On target: The statisticians counted 17-10 shots on goal. Of the 17 Dortmund attempts, 14 were on target and seven went in. Celtic only managed to get three of their 10 attempts on target.
Half-time record: BVB have only scored five goals in a single half of a Champions League game once before: on 22 November 2016. Shinji Kagawa (2), Nuri Sahin, Ousman Dembele and Marco Reus scored to make it 5-2 at half time in their 8-4 win against Legia Warsaw.
Age record: Karim Adeyemi scored his 10th, 11th and 12th goals in the UEFA Champions League, and at 22 years and 257 days old is the first German player to score 10 (or more) goals in this competition before his 23rd birthday.
Early goals: Emre Can in the seventh minute, Karim Adeyemi in the 11th and 29th minutes: in other words, three BVB goals in the first half hour of a Champions League game, which is a first. The previous record was three goals in the first 40 minutes. Until now, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (6/18) and Marco Reus (41) had held the record for scoring the earliest three goals, in Dortmund's 4-0 win at Galatasaray in October 2014.
From the spot I: Serhou Guirassy scored his sixth penalty in a row. For the third time in the UEFA Champions League, he scored "from the spot". Overall, he has scored from 16 of the 19 penalties he has taken.
From the spot II: Emre Can also scored his 11th penalty in a BVB shirt (before that, nine in the league and one in the DFB-Pokal).
It's going well: Felix Nmecha scored his fourth goal for BVB. He has scored twice within four days.
Home streak: Borussia Dortmund extended their winning run in their own stadium, and are now unbeaten in their last 12 home games in the UEFA Champions League. They have had eight wins and four draws. The goal difference so far is 27-5. Dortmund conceded in only four of these 12 home games.
Mini landmark: This was Marcel Sabitzer's 50th Champions League game.
Clean slate: In their third home game against Scotland's record trophy winners, Borussia Dortmund did concede for the first time. However, they still celebrated their third home win in their third home game against Celtic, following their 2-0 victory in 1987 and their 1-0 win five years later (both as part of the former UEFA Cup).
